This historic, 1000-acre private estate on the Lizard Peninsula has been transformed by restoring its environment and converting old or abandoned buildings based on green principles. Trelowarren has won five awards for its pioneering Eco-Timeshare, which combines the appeal of 30 years of holidays at a fixed price with accommodation built, equipped and supplied to the highest environmental standards, in a listed landscape of outstanding natural beauty.

Here, in this wooded paradise between the Goonhilly Downs and the Helford River, a mile from any road, a redundant Georgian barn has been transformed into four houses of unique character and quality. Two 18th century cottages, standing within an Iron Age fort, have been restored to the same demanding standards. The individual timeshare houses sleep between four and ten people. Irrespective of their age, the houses are all equipped to the highest standards of expectation, with low-voltage appliances, stereo and satellite TV, and zip and link mattresses for flexibility.

Adjoining the orchard are three fine, old walled gardens, two of which have been redeveloped to provide a reception, all-weather tennis court and a naturally filtered and heated outdoor swimming pool.

The Stableyard houses the New Yard restaurant with its innovative menu using fresh local produce provides cosy fires in winter and al fresco dining in summer. The Craft Centre also in the Stableyard is a permanent gallery for mulit-media arts, textiles, pottery, ceramics, jewellery, sculpture and furniture.

2 dogs are permitted at the resort free of charge by prior arrangement.
